Different field formats

I have a few of questions.

1) When importing data from an excel spreadsheet older versions used to
allow me to save import specifications for routein importing. It looks to me
that Access 2000 version 9 does not allow me to save them anymore?

2) When importing excel data, I used to be able to dictate the data format
by changing the format during the import. On the excel file I am importing
that same function I referenced is greyed out and does not work.

Hi Dennis,

You must be thinking about text files. As far as I know neither (1)
nor (2) was available in any version before Access 2007 (though I've
only personal experience from Access 95 onwards).
