Different Business Contact Lists in BCM

I used to keep separate subfolders in Outlook with different groups of
contacts for each of my different territories. I want to drive everything
out of BCM so I am not using Outlook Contacts anymore and just want to use
BCM Contacts. Any suggestions on the best way to do this since it appears I
cannot create subfolders in BCM?

I am not sure if I am talking about the same thing or not. I want to know how
to make the BCM the default contact manager for outlook 2003, instead of the
"contact manager" file that currently exists separately from BCM. All other
aspects of outlook default to contact manager to get contacts and I would
like them to default to BCM. Any ideas?

Also, if I can make BCM my default contact location, can I than sync these
with my treo like I currently do with the existing default contact manager or
do I need a windows mobile based pocket PC?

You can sync to your Palm OS Treo by using an excellent third party sofware
called Pocket Mirror Professional from Chapura. www.chapura.com. They also
have an additional full featured app called Key Suite that works well with
the BCM Contacts record folder.

To address Loren's other point, is there a way to get the default contacts to
come from BCM? I have the same frustration as I would guess Loren and others
do, which is that I see the functionality of BCM, but need it to be more
integrated. Also, if I have a Windows Mobile phone, does that solve any
problems, for which I am guessing you directed Loren to Pocket Mirror?

If the answer is that I need a new version of BCM or something, would
appreciate knowing that as well. I am happy to upgrade to 2007 if it solves
this problem for me.

There is a Mobile BCM download available from MS for Windows Mobile 5.0
devices. Chapura's Pocket Mirror Professional is also available for WM 5.0.

2 questions. First, where is this download available? Second, assuming I am
on a hosted exchange solution, does that put me out of the running for having
the BCM DB info stored in one central location (assuming that my hosted
exchange service is only setup for regular exchange contacts)? Am I SOL?

Boris,

To borrow your phrase, you are SOL. The exchange info is for your native
Outlook Contacts folder items only. Exchange does not interact with the
separate BCM SQL contact db. For too many years now MS has been mistakenly
assuming that most BCM users do not need to have remote access their BCM data
from a remote location. That is starting to show signs of change with the
new Office Live so stay tuned.
