Hi,
I've been window shopping and looking at the Developer's Version(s) of
Access to eventually purchase. This would primarily be so I could distribute
full running versions of a database I design.
I'm getting mixed up first with the different Editions of Access. It looks
like there's Access 97, Access 2000, Access 2002, and Access 2003. Does
anyone know what Access XP is? Is this something special?

I use Access 2000 now, but would like to upgrade to the latest version of
Access. Does anyone know what the latest version of the Developer's Editon
is titled?

Thank you for your time, and have a nice weekend.
Amy

Thank you Rob & Jeff for answering my questions.
It looks like I need to purchase Access 2003 first. And then the Visual
Developer's ToolKit.

Has anyone heard of a problem with upgrading an Access 2000 Database to
Access 2003? I don't have any databases split or networked. Everything is
upfront on one computer, although someday I would like to get into server
type databases too.

I just new and learning. Thanks again,
Amy

A2003 *defaults* to using A2000 as its database format. There is a
2002/2003 format that you'll need to use if you want to create a .MDE
file but as a rule they're pretty much the same.

If the database will be used concurrantly by two or more people -
split it. Easy to do and worth the trouble.
