Hi,

I have tried to read my way to understand what the difference is between
normal AutomaticUpdate and WSUS update of IE7.
I cant seem to understand if WSUS update of IE7 will be installed on all my
clients regardles if they are local admin or not.
In the case of normal standalone client Automatic Update I realize that you
need to be local admin to get to install IE7 but is this the case also with
WSUS version of the update? If yes, then how will I be able to deploy IE7 to
all my clients without making them all local admins???

Am I just being thick in the head or ....?

/ Cheers

Yesterday new packages for IE7 was downloaded to my WSUS server. Instead of
being set to "Detect Only", they came in as "Install". I didn't catch it
because I wasn't expecting any changes since 11/01. I have been slowly
rolling out IE7 to some desktops and it has gone well.

Today, many of the desktops were stuck shutting down on the IE7 install.
Everything shows that the install if the English version, but when I try to
run the install manually, if fails stating that it is the incorrect version -
in Spanish! The package in WSUS does not show Spanish as one of the options.

Did Microsoft soft push something incorrectly or is this just a problem with
my WSUS server?

(cross-post added to WSUS)

Yep. And they have now "expired" it. Search the
microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services group and you will find quite a
few discussions in this and many comments from MS
