difference between outlook and outlook express

bbxrider

windows2k, outlook 2k, outlook express 6
when accessing email from comcast.net my cable provider while away from home
across a dialup,
outlook express works ok, but with exact same connection properties for
outlook2k i can receive but not send????
for whatever its worth this is the error message,
the tcp/ip connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server,
smtp.comcast.net, 0x800cccof

the connection properties panel seems identical, although that doesn't
necessarily mean the programming behind it is the same,
anybody have any ideas why the difference and how to fix
i even completely removed all the exisitng outlook connections, quit
outlook, restarted and added the dialup connection from scratch
??????
would really rather be using outlook if its possible

Many ISPs now require you to authenticate to the Pop3 server before sending
mail through the smtp server.

Outlook and OE may send and receive in opposite order. To test, try just
receiving mail, and then just sending mail.

Good luck.
