Cany anyone tell me the difference between the "Delete" permission and the
"Delete Subfolders and Files" permission?
Thanks!
The delete permission gives permission to delete the object itself. The
Delete Subfolders and Files permission gives permission to delete "child"
objects.
For instance, Assume you have a folder called MyStuff that has files called
MyFile1 and Myfile2.
If you have the delete permission for MyStuff and are not denied delete
permissions for MyFile1 and MyFile2, you can wipe out MyStuff by deleting
the folder (and, consequently, all files and folders therein).
If you have "delete" and "delete sub..." permissions for the Mystuff folder,
but are denied permission to delete either MyFile1 or MyFile2, you will not
be able to delete the folder (since you can't delete one or more of the
files contained therein).
If you have the delete sub permission for the Mystuff folder, but not the
delete permission, you can delete MyFile1 and Myfile2 (unless you are denied
those permissions somewhere else), but can't delete the Mystuff folder.
I hope that wasn't too confusing.
