There are two types of mobile devices.
First is those devices which have client-side resources. Examples are
PDAs, PalmTops etc.
Second is those devices which dont have client-side resources.
Examples are mobile phones.

MS.NET Compact Framework is used to develop applications for first type
devices.
MMIT is to develop applications for second type devices.

MMIT is a server side technology. It is ideal for devices that cannot
run stand alone applications.

But does that mean that MMIT is confined only to such devices ?
Can a resource-rich PDA or handheld PC execute MMIT application ?

MMIT creates server side ASP.NET based applications. Therefore it fully
support Pocket PC, Smartphone and other similar "Smart Client" devices.
Obviously the catch here is that you will need an active network connection
to the server - WLAN, GPRS etc
