Thanks Dave, that gave me a clue as to where to look next. I have now found
that InstallShield was originally provided by Dell on their Resource Disk.
Unfortunately that disk was provided for Windows ME and I have since changed
to XP SP2, consequently it won't install on SP2. I have now contacted Dell
for advice.

| Hi Jean;
| Nope, MSAS is innocent. InstallShield is now owned by Macrovision (our
copy
| protection friends)... and usually is involved with the install and/or
updating
| of Multimedia content services or products. My own InstallShield was
installed
| by a Sonic Software install of CD/DVD burning software. You can view the
sorce
| (like Sonic) within the .ini files burried within several nested folders
in the
| InstallShield folder:
|
| C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
| Data\InstallShield\UpdateService\Database
|
| You may need to enable hidden files to see these .ini files:
| Open My Computer > goto 'Tools' on the top bar> then click'
| Folder Options' > then goto the 'View' tab, make sure that 'Show hidden
files
| and folders' is enabled. 'Display the contents of system folders' is
checked
| & 'Hide extentions for known file types ' is not checked then press apply
|
| You can set this back later by opening the same page and pressing 'restore
| defaults' then pressing apply,
