Did KLEZ virus do this to me?

I have two computers (W2K and XP) connected to a switch, which is
connected to a hardware firewall, which is connected to a cable
modem.

While cleaning up the W2K machine today, I discovered and cleaned
out the KLEZ virus (using The Cleaner), then used Windows update
to get the W2K machine current.

Current situation: My XP can see the W2K machine, but the W2K
machine cannot see the XP machine. Both belong to the same
workgroup. I even tried renaming the workgroup, specified no
domain controller, tried home network instead of business network
-- but nothing seems to enable W2K to see XP.

Could the KLEZ worm have disabled something in my W2K machine?

Thanks,
Steve

I've seen that little piece of crap bug disable all Windows Explorer file
moving functions on one 2K server. It even starting denying access to one
type of database server, then to a SQL database server. I've believe this is
something it could have done. These were all sitting behind a CISCO hardware
firewall.

Can the 2k machine ping it's own IP?
When in doubt, uninstall the NIC and reinstall it. That'll force the
rebinding of the protocols to the NIC.
