Did I read Garmin popup correctly?

I have a relatively new Garmin GPS (hand held) nav system I use in my
car. Has free traffic and free map updates).
On my Win XP I get a popup that says that support for Win XP is no
longer there for the installed Garmin support app and it seems that the
Garmin PC app that works with the nav unit no longer works. The Garmin
popup say I need to upgrade Windoze to Vista or "better" (ha ha) to
have the Garmin app work it needs to be on a later OS.
If so, that is the most rotten thing I have ever seen. Anybody else
seen this?
i.e. it seems that Garmin disabled their support app on XP.

Well, you will have to ask them. I wouldn't be surprised, although I
would think they would still make their last XP version available to
those who need it, even if you can't update it to a later version.

We will see more and more of this. I've already had a few programs stop
XP support and move on. Filezilla FTP client and (I think) PHP.

If you're asking about some other Garmin application running on your
desktop, you'll have to identify it. Most list system requirement
although some are dependent on the web browser version rather than the
OS version (e.g., Garmin Communication plug-in).
