I'm writing to introduce my new website, www.english-dictionary.us. This
is a powerful, no-frills English dictionary containing over 200,000
references with both US and British spellings.

You can add a search box on your website for this new online dictionary
by using the code on http://www.english-dictionary.us/searchbox.html, or
alternatively just include a link from one of your pages
</q>

Check it out - it has a nice simple interface. :)

Very nice job Susan. I wish you reserved enough bandwidth for the
(for sure numerous) coming visitors :)

Oops. . . My post was poorly worded. Info about the site was sent to
the pricelesswarehome.org mail box by a Mike Harding. It's his site, not
mine. I agree with the "nice job" part of your comment. :)

My bad, I was poorly wired this morning :)

Another webware dictionary I find useful is merriam-webmaster's
one, especially to check the stresses on the words
HP : http://www.m-w.com.

That's not nice. :) I need to weed some sites out - not add more. I
must have at least 100 dictionary sites bookmarked - including ones
that lead on to more sites - like this one:

http://www-math.uni-paderborn.de/dictionaries/Dictionaries_noframes.html

Today that site said "Dictionary of American Regional English new!"
http://polyglot.lss.wisc.edu/dare/dare.html

Oh *Goodie*!!! says I - and similar exclamations of delight. The site is
just an *overview* of the project. I got that decades ago from Fred
Cassidy. . . rats and phooey. . . what a disappointment. :(

Here's a webware file conversion site you may like http://www.iconv.com/

Thanks for the suggestion. IMO the name is misleading. The site bills
itself as "Data conversion online" - but it's a mixture of things. There
are some useful looking text manipulation tools. :)
