Diasble Action Buttons

I want to be able to disable the actions buttons option of
the menus in Powerpoint as there is a security problem. If
you look at the properties of an action button you can
browse to an application to be run when a user clicks on
the button.

This means that disabling things like the run command
becomes completely pointless.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Is your purpose to limit the editing features of
PowerPoint or the editing of a specific presentation?

I don't think you can remove the action setting feature
(or hyperlink feature either) from PowerPoint. I don't
understand why you'd want to restrict someone's access
that much. If you're trying to create an environment
where persons can only run the applications you give them
icons on their desktops, maybe you can accomplish it with
Network Security settings. You'll have the same issues
with Microsoft Word that also allows hyperlinking.

If you're trying to protect a specific presentation, see

Hello,

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality that you are looking for.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
