I have a Win2000 server with a dialin modem. The server has Internet
access. The server assigns the IP address to the dialed in machine. I
am able to connect with the machine that dials in, but when I do a
ping of yahoo.com, I get "Unknown Host". I can ping the machine I dial
into but if I try and ping any other machine, I get a timeout.

The dial in machine allows the server to assign an IP address.

I believe I should be able to access the Internet through the server.
Can anybody suggest what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,

Where are the Clients pointed to for DNS, and does the Server with the Modem
have NAT Setup? (RRAS/NAT or ICS)?

To provide access through the server you have to share out the connection so
you can route through it. :)

The Clients have Obtain DNS from Server. I just changed that so it
specified the DNS address and then when I ping yahoo.com, it does get
yahoo's address but then times out.

I'm not sure what NAT is. On the Client I created the dialup by doing
Settings-->Network and Dilup Connections->Make new connection.

On the server, I created the connection using the Wizard. I only have
TCP/IP and not NetBeui.

Thanks for the help and did that answer the question?
