dialog box

We have a new computer and transferred allof our files from "My Documents".
We can access all the data base files but we are unable to access the word
documents. Everytime we try we get a message: "The command cannot be
performed because a dialog box is open. Click OK, and then close open dialog
boxes to continue".

We do NOT have any dialog boxes open. We have rebooted the computer.

Any suggestions
