I can't seem to get MCM ti dial. When I press the phone icon the number
appears of my contact. I select the number and press dial. My 56Kps modem
kicks in and dials. The person I am dialling phone rings but when answered
they cannot hear anything on their side. On my side my headphones and mic
play through the soudcard, but I cannot hear any dialling tone or the other
person on the other side of the line. Are there any settings that I need to
change or patches I need to get?

Albert,

Your problem is very likely not a BCM issue rather it is probably hardware
related. Do you you know for sure if your PC modem is voice capable or is it
a data only modem?

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your reply. My modem is voice, data and fax enabled. Rather I
think the problem lies that the modem is not communicating with the soundcard
in some way. So maybe I need some settings are out. What do you think?

I vaguely recall reading something way back when it first was released about
Windows XP SP2 wreaking havoc with certain PC modems.

Find out who the OEM of your modem (What brand) is and check their website
for any downloadable SP2 driver updates, etc.
