Why would your ISP have anything to do with it? If it's a UK 'premium
rate' number that you have been dialling / charged for then BT should be
able to help. If it's a foreign number you may be SOL, but BT could tell
you that too.

Ask BT if they think profiting from the proceeds of crime is itself a
criminal offence. Say you think it needs clarifying so you're going to ask
your solicitor, your MP and a national newspaper what the position is.

If it's dialled a premium rate number while you were unaware then
complain here. http://www.icstis.org.uk

Hi,

A friend of mine recently got stung with a CoolMP3.exe while trying to
download and install DC++ which in turn apparently installed a Spanish
premium rate dialler named connectar del something or other, it cost him £80
for that little mistake.

I had a look at his PC, run adaware (which did not find anything), stopped
CoolMP3 from running at bootup, deleted all traces of CoolMP3 and dialer del
cant remember the rest out of his registry, cleaned its dialler connection
settings and cleaned up the folders and files it had left behind on the
desktop, programme files, windows etc.

This seems to have rid his comp of the beastie giving him peace of mind in
the process.

His ISP (cable) also placed a phone bar from their end on the number so if
it did try to dial out it would be blocked, the cable guy also said that
they had received numerous similar phone calls relating to similar
incidents.
