I am trying to disable the calling rules , because I am syncing with my
pocket phonne and my operator does not reconize my calling if I dial my
location , and I don't know how to disable this rules , does someone could
help me ?

Dialing Rules have absolutely nothing to do with how your pocket phone
dials, the format you use to enter telephone numbers into Contacts has
everything to do with it. Dialing Rules determine how your PC dials, not
how your phone dials. Enter phone numbers into Contacts in Canonical
(International) format and you should have better luck:

You Must Enter Telephone Numbers in Canonical Form in Order to Use Dialing
Rules

Dialing Rules May Not Be Applied to Tools Such as Fax

Hy Hal
thank you for tryung to help me.but I have 2 problems

1-I live in Brazil and the dialing rules here does not include the(+) siggnal
before the number.
2-I do not use my PC to make calls.
3-My pocket phonne syncs with my contacts at Outlook.
4-I do notknow why ,but every time i try to introduce a new contact number
the Outlook system introduce the first 2 numbers of my area code, and now my
problems begins since my mobile operator does not accept that I dial with my
area code at the begining.
example,

my area code is 12 ,( I HAVE to mention this at my phonne setings at my PC)
so when I try to introduce a new number like 3883 2377 ( my office number) as
soon I enter this number outlook automatic changes to : (12 ) 3883 2377
and when I sync with my phonne the number still with 12 at the begining and
to dial from my Phonne I have to edit and take aout the 12 again. this is
such MESS ,cause I have todothis to all the numbers.
that' s why I would like to disable this rules. thank you for teying to help
me

I really don't know how to help with that. To the best of by knowledge, the
Canonical (International) format for entering telephone numbers is supported
everywhere. The pocket phone is supposed to take such a number and be smart
enough to dial area codes only when necessary. As an example, if I want to
make an Outlook contact for my home phone, I'd enter it as +1 (520)
555-1212; this is how it would appear in Outlook contacts, and in my pocket
PC phone after synchronizing. If I call this number from my phone's contact
list, it dials 555-1212. The phone is smart enough to know that it lives in
the United States (+1) and that it belongs to my area code (520). If I call
a long distance number from my phone's contact list (E.G. +1 (631)
555-1212), the phone still knows that I'm in the US (so it doesn't dial the
+1), but it does dial the area code (613) and the number (555-1212). it
would appear that the phone has the problem.

Hello Hal and everyone else,

I too have run into this problem. I think that many do, I wonder how
they get rid of it:

PROBLEM: Disable outlook 2007 dialing rules enforcement
I am using Outlook 2007. When entering a phone number of a contact in
it's separate contact window, outlook removes the (+) I enter. I need
the plus when it syncs. I want to stop this behavior, but I don't know
how.

(In previous versions of outlook, I *think* that you could control
this. Now I am at the mercy of this feature.)

HYPOTHESIS: I assume that this is because of the dialing rules
configured on the machine.

ATTEMPTS:
I cannot add + as a prefix in the dialing rules, it tells me that it
is a disallowed symbol.

In outlook I have hunted an option to disable the rules or something,
to no avail.

Outlook help doesn't even show a hit when I search for anything with
"international phone number +", etc. So frustrating!

Best regards,

/marcus
