Hi,

I'm having problems dialing out from a PBX.

I have put the '0' to access an outside line, but I always get a
recorded announcement telling me call cannot be connected.

I have tried dialing the same number on another PC (not behind a PBX)
and all works fine.

I suspect that there is no delay between the 0 for an outside line,
and the subsequent digits. I have tried putting a comma (,) after the
0 (like we used to do in the olden days of dial up) but I still can't
get it to work.

Anyone any ideas?

TIA

Rob

Like most people who don't think about canonical rules, when sending a fax I
entered a number that looked like this: "603" in the area code field, "555
1212" in the number field. So the dialer did not use dialing rules. I did
have the box checked to specify using the rules.

It would have been a big help if I had received a message saying that the
number's format precluded using rules. Instead, the dialer went ahead and
made the call, expensively bypassing my calling card.
