I need to configure my dialing rules to send the prefix '81 1' for some
prefixes, but send '81' for all other prefixes in that area-code. I can't
just enter the "all other prefixes" manually, because there are too many of
them.

Any ideas?
Win2k3 standard.

I guess it's possible. Start > Settings > Control Panel >
Phone & Modem Options > Dialing Rule > Edit > Area Code
Rules > New. In this dialog you see Prefix. In the Rules
area enter the digits you want to prepend. You can make
use of help ('?' next to 'x' button at the top right) to
get more details about each element.

Let us know if that doesn't help you.

Hi Raghavendra,
Yes, I am familiar with that panel. I have dozens of rules already.
But how do I do this:

For area code 301, prefix 555, 556, 557 have one rule,
then for area code 301, ALL OTHER prefixes, have another default rule.

Say for the number with 55 prefix, eg 81 (501) 55xxx, you want the 81 1 to
be prefixed

In the area code page,
Set Area code to 501
in the list of prefixes add 55.

Set 1 to the Dial text box below

Let us know if this helps
