dialer problems

a lad at work thinks that he has a dialer (along with other crappy
stuff)installed on his pc.as hes a bit of a novice he doesnt know how
he should go about removing it.

would i be right in thinking that d/l adaware and spybot is the right
course to follow,or does he need to identify the dialer and follow
another path.

ive told him to run panda activescan.... am i right ?
