I am running Windows XP Home Edition. The problem I have
is that when I get booted off the internet for whatever
reason, I cannot dial back immediately. One of two things
needs to happen first, Either I have to wait at least 15
minutes before dialing again or I have to completely
reboot my computer before dialing. If not then I get the
message "Could not detect a dial tone".
I spoke with my ISP and he said this was in my computer
and I know this to be true because I have 2 computers, and
if the other gets booted off it can redial immediately
with no problems. The other PC is running Windows 98 2nd
Edition.
When my computer tells me it can not detect a dial tone I
physically pick up the phone and there is always a dial
tone. Whats up with my PC?
