Dial-up wont connect

I recenty installed Service Pack 2. After installing my modem can't connect
to the net. I tried disabling the firewall and a few other options. Any
suggestions
 
Was one of the other options getting the latest modem drivers.. or
contacting your ISP for help?.. does it not connect to the net because it is
not recognised properly, or because some settings (like DNS) are not set the
way they should?..

Please reply to this thread with details on error messages et al..
