I am using a company laptop, a Dell 8500, with Sprint
iPass dial-up software.

I can get connected to the internet with no problem.
What is the problem is that every so often the software
attempts to download a phonebook update and during this
process, at the same time every time, my computer freezes.

Sprint says it is my computer. . .

Any help is much appreciated!!

i would sooner think it is sprint's software. corporations have a
tendency to shift blame when they don't know how to solve the problem,
have never heard of the problem, or it is not in their best political
interest to take ownership of the problem.

push them into figuring it out. you may get nowhere, but there are
hundreds of other ISPs around.

Thanks Travis. I was thinking so too. . .my only problem
is that it is the company ISP for when I travel, so I
don't have a choice. Other company laptops don't have
issue.

Do you think Modem and soundcard sharing IRQ is issue?
