When first time setting up dial-up, password is entered
but on excuting dial-up the password is now 16 char long.
This is all happening on fist clean install of XP home.
If you delete password in Tools-Internet Options-
Connections - Settings, it will stay blank, if you just
use 1 (one) char it still shows up as 16 when returning
to dial-up. Have "Cleared Passwords" in Content section.
All to no avail. Please can any body suggest a fix.
Thank you and have a happy New year Nic

If you mean I have to type in password everytime, yes the
connection is made with my ISP.
I do not expected to do to this.

XP always displays 16 characters for a stored password, no matter how
long it actually is. The stored password should work fine.

Hi Steve,
Yes I have found this out since as a cable user I am not
used to this password, anyway the problem appears to be a
firewall problem and tried it out on my own PC it works
