dial up network ?

My Windows XP crashed, but was restored with the operating
system reinstall cd - EXCEPT for the dial up network.
While trying to use "new connection wizard," the 4th
window: "How do you want to connect to the internet" has
pre-chosen "connect using broadband connection always on."
I want to chose "connect using dial up modem" but the
computer will not let me.
Somewhere else along the way I've come across error 711

What to do??
