I am currently on dial up...haven't upgraded to the cable as yet. I have
have spybot destroyer and AVG. I am still streaming information out on the
web without requesting any pages or email. I have checked all programs to
make sure that I am running the bare essentials on startup. Currently
running the XP firewall.

Any suggestions??

Install a real firewall that monitors /outgoing/ requests and see what
is hitting it.

Proper firewall with outbound protection definitely, also this:

You can use the (free) tools in the link like Active Ports and Process
Explorer to track it down.

_Rootkit_Tools_in_a_Windows_Environment.html

I have a short-cut for Active Ports in the Start folder so I can get a
clear picture of connections to and from the machine when I login to the
O/S.

BTW, XP's FW is decent.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q321050#appliesto

You should try to *harden* the XP O/S to attack a little bit. The
protection starts with the XP O/S. If the O/S is not secure, then nothing
on the machine is secure.
