The problem is as follows:
I have a 700 mHz Dell, which came with Windows 98, that has been upgraded to Windows XP Home Edition.
The system has worked fine for several months. It originally had a dial-up to the Internet, but was converted to a Broadband system via a network card. Christmas I gave the system to my grandson. We are trying to return it to a dial-up system. I disabled the network attachment.
I have been trying to return to a dial-up system. The system will not let me form a dial-up attachment.
I have re-installed the Windows XP Home Edition system. I have looked under the Computer Management folder and have found that the following services are not able to be started:
1. Remote Access Auto Connections Manager
Will not start, gives error message 1068.
2. Remote Access Connections Manager
Will not start, gives error message 5 Access denied
Does anybody know what to do? I need help to get my grandson’s computer working so he can access the internet.
