Dial up connection pop up

Windows XP, Whenever I play a game any game my dial up
connection will pop up and minimize the game I'm playing.
Does anybody have a clue how to stop this.

Are you playing an online multiplayer game when that happens?
What do the contents of the pop up message state exactly?
