Dial-up connection p[ops up

I am connected by cable modem, but also have a dial-up connection configured
for days when the cable is out.

ZoneAlarm (latest free version) often tells me that various programs are
trying to connect to the internet, and until I become more familiar with
what these programs are on my new computer, my usual reaction is to tell
ZoneAlarm "No" (do not allow the program to connect to the internet).

And every time I do this, the dial-up connection box pops up. Then I have to
close it, which doubles the nuisance factor.

This didn't happen on my Win98SE computer.

Is there a setting I can change, that will prevent WinXP from popping up the
Dial-up connection box under these circumstances?

Thanks for any advice...

In IE go to the tools menu, then 'Internet options'. Click the 'connections'
tab. Make sure the 'never dial a connection' radio button is filled, and
press okay.
Hope that helps.
