I have to use a VPN client that won't call on a dial up connection definition
before hand. Is there any way that the dial up connection definition can be
made to dial up automatically before the user logs in - similar to running an
exe as a service.

Is there any way to make this auto dial before the user logs in.

windows 2000 workstation SP4.

Why?

We need to use a product called Forticlient for the VPN software. The
manufacturer has no plans to provide a 'use this dial up connection' method.
The manufacturer has no method to create a VPN using the Microsoft VPN
definition method that I have been able to find.

Ok. Well unless the people responsible for developing Forticlient have some
trick up thier sleeve I don't think there is any way to do what you ask.
Even if you get Forticlient to execute as a service does not mean it will
actually dial without user intervention.

IE can cause a dial up definition to connect automatically. Is there any way
to encompass that into a service? When I take a dial up definition shortcut
all that it shows is a GUID that I can't turn into a service.
