Dial Control in Win 2K

Wayne

I'm working at a client site and having problems dialling
out due to a call divert on the line that is proving
difficult to remove. I have been able to set my modem to
ignore the dial tone by deselecting the 'wait for dial
tone flag in' the Dial Control box of the Modem Properties
tab. However this is now greyed out since I migrated to
Win2K from XP (got fed up with the poor performance of XP
on my aged laptop).

(I have a PSION Dacom 56K + Fax PCMCIA modem and have
installed the latest modem driver from PSION, but it
hasn't fixed the problem).

Can anyone advise how to get around this - other than
waiting for the divert to be removed from the line
eventually?

Thanks.

Wayne.

If your modem interface lets you define the commands to be
sent to the modem then this string might force the modem
into blind dialling:

atX0 (A-T-X-zero)

See http://martinri.freeshell.org/pc/modem-info/at-commands.html.
