Diagram Reports in Access (or Visio)

Hi,

I'd like to create a graphical diagram report based on
records from an Access database. I'd either store the x/y
coordinates in the same Access database or maybe determine
their coordinates on the fly.

Basically, what I'd like to do is have records show up at
different locations on the page depending on their
corresponding x/y coordinates.

So is this even possible in Access? And if it is
possible, is it recommended? Or does something like this
need to be automated through Visio?

Both options are available, but for what I'm looking to
do, I think Visio may add an unnecessary layer of
complexity. (I really only need 100 or so records to show
up on a single 8.5 x 14 page at various x/y coordinates.)

So I'd prefer to stay in Access, but I'd hate to spend a
whole lot of time trying to get this to work in Access if
it isn't even possible or if it's barely possible with
very limited functionality.

TIA

Wow! That's exactly what I'm looking for!

Sheesh... If you are going to spam people's posts here,
you should at least make an effort to answer their
questions.

Maybe saying something like "try (a) or maybe try (b),
but if that doesn't work, check out my company..."

But I guess that's too much work for you...

BTW - I wasn't even talking about graphs. I was talking
about x/y coordinates.

For instance, printing a table of city names at various
x/y coordinates on a page, while maybe using a bitmap of
the state as the background.

Are you suggesting that I am spamming or promoting sales for my company? I
don't work for that company although I did several years ago. The samples
are provided free to the Access community.

BTW: if you looked at the demos, there was a graph of employee height and
weight which is exactly the same type of code I have used to plot cities
using latitude and longitude. There are no graph controls used anywhere in
the demo.

I have been accused of being a little "short" at times but never of
spamming. If you can think of better verbiage when I promote sample
downloads from sites please let me know. I often send posters to commercial
sites like www.fmsinc.com or www.databasecreations.com or
http://www.speedferret.com/ but only because the solutions at these sites
can save you lots of time and money. I have no affiliations with any of
these.
