diagram autoshapes

I've been messing about with the autoshapes in the diagram
feature and now all my circular arrows in the cicle
diagram appear as block arches. Change autoshape (both
with autolayout switched on and off) and set default
autoshape with the newly changed shape doesn't work. Is
there a "revert to original settings?" somewere? (perhaps
deleting a "personal settings-file"?

I'm assuming that you are using PowerPoint 2003 and are referring to the cycle
diagram. Have you tried "Undo"? If you insert a new cycle diagram do the
arches have arrows? Although the following following will work if you do the
reverse and change the block arrows to arches, it might be easier to just start
over.

How to add arrowheads to a Cycle diagram

I'm pretty sure that the default for that diagram is set to "no arrows," and
I don't think it can be changed to the "with arrow" autoshape.

In other words, I don't think you messed anything up.

I recently reformatted and reinstalled and updated everything. Now when I
insert a Cycle diagram in PowerPoint 2003 it comes with arrows. PowerPoint 2002
still gives me a diagram with no arrows. Do you suppose that some recent update
changed things in PowerPoint 2003? I know that I didn't cause it because I
never use the thing. It's a mystery.

I'm using 2002 and this happened days ago. 'course I tried
undo, even restarted the bloddy machine. the Cycle
diagramm in my powerpoint does not do arrowheads anymore.
The default is set to arches and I can't get it back...
I assume I will have to get rid of a personal settings-
file, but I don't know where it's kept. It's a personal
computer, not NT, I've had a look in my profile settings
but can't find anything. What file extention do I have to
look out for?
Any ideas what's going on?

No arrows is what PowerPoint 2002 produces by default. You'll need to use the
link I provided to create the arrows.

Oh, hadn't thought of that -- I was assuming PPT 2002, and that one doesn't
have default arrows.

But I also see default arrows in PPT 2003. I've applied the Critical Update,
though, so I don't know what the plain ol' unpatched version of PPT 2003
does...

Apologies if I caused any confusion in the thread.

Ah, you know, on second thought, I bet this behavior was just changed from
2002 (no arrows) to 2003 (with arrows) because of customer feedback.

And I just noticed that the original poster has mentioned using 2002. So no
default arrows.

Reading Echo's reply made me realise something here...
I have to appologise for the confusion as well. Didn't
think there was a difference between 2003 (which I've got
at work) and 2002 (which I use at home). Thanks for
getting me back on track

You didn't cause any confusion. I just didn't know what version Kathy was
using. Now we know - - Both. LOL!
