Hello, All!

Downloaded the diagnostic-software from Maxtor to check my primary HD.
It's adviced to 'remove other HD's' before PowerMax goes to work.
My question is, can I just turn off the other HD in the BIOS? Or is it
necessary to physically remove it?

Thanks.
With best regards, EDJO.

Somewhere in between those two :-)

Switch off power, open the case and disconnect the cables to
other harddisks.

Real diagnostic software may send off-standard commands to a
disk. Maxtor knows how a Maxtor disk will or should respond.
Any other brand may respond in an unpredictable way.
(Either tampering with the Maxtor results or even corrupting data
on the disk.)

Oh man, now I have to switch off the power, pull all the connectors out from
the back, slide the case from it's place and bring (heavy!) it to a less
darker place, open the case, disconnect the HD-cables, close the case, place
the case on it's spot, connect all the cables on the back, and (with a
painfull back) switch on. After testing I have to......
Pfff...

Thanx anyway...;-)
BTW., the two HD's are identical. Is that important relating to my question?
