Diagnostic programs for computers/laptops

Anyone know of any good diagnostic programs for hardware
inside machines. I am really looking for two things. A
good memory tester and something that can read the
temperature of a CPU. Any ideas, free would be
preferably but diagnostics that cost are great
suggestions too.

Hi, memtest86 is the definitive memory tester, get it here
http://www.memtest86.com/ There simply isn't anything better. As for testing
a CPU I would recommend prime95 http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm For
finding out the temperature of your CPU then motherboard monitor
http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ is the one to use.
