DHTML Problem in IE6 Win 98

A client uses a web application heavily scripted with jsp. There is no
problem with any XP machine, but several (fully up to date with IE6, all
windows updates, and latest Sun JVM) Windows 98 PC's pop up a message re.
needing a DHTML component with an option to download or cancel. (This
appears to be a Windows or IE generated message and not from the app.) This
message appears after entering some data search parameters, being advised ##
records found, press OK to display. It makes no difference which option is
selected. The message repeats every time and IE basically sits there doing
nothing further, i.e. never displays the records. Would appreciate any
ideas on this. Another Win 98 machine does work with the app and a
comparison of IE settings, version, etc. does not show any differences.
