AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRG! :wall: :wall: :wall:

Ahh... that's better.

In the last few years I've been sent about 10 parcels from DHL. Each time I've waited in as I know it's going to arrive, and they have only ONCE managed to ring the buzzer to my flat (it's not difficult to press 2 numbers, there's even a sign with instructions). 8 times I've gone to pick it up, and the other the parcel got sent back to the USA and I never got it (because they don't leave cards either, perhaps because it's a flat with no outside postbox).

I've had so much trouble with this company (and UPS to a lesser extent). Last time I went to pick up the parcel (after plenty of notice) they couldn't even find it.

Hmmm surely they are in breach of a written contract they enter into each they they agree to deliver a parcel. They are surely to make every reasonable effort to deliver it?

Simply having press a buzzer is no excuse for them. I would ring them up and play hell. Ask if their drivers are illiterate as to such an extent they can't read simple instructions that are placed upon the entry intercom system.

Maybe they think because you live in a flat they think you expect them to take it to you and thats why they don't buzz?

Hey Ian,

We get similar here, i love American Football and often get Jerseys and Jumpers, DVDs sent from America but if it comes DHL i'm outta luck.

I live in a flat too, there are a brand new build and it seems DHL can't find em, Komplett used DHL as well so i'm resigned to sitting by the window if its a parcel i haven't got to pay tax on and waiting to spot him.

We have secure & gated entry but is a massive sign pointing to a trade button which buzzes everyone in the building then somone will come and get it.

Although they did leave a card once with the drivers number on it, so i phoned him and he said he was at the mcdonalds up the road and would be back in 10 minutes.

The driver has my number now, so he's going to try and re-deliver today - let's see if that happens

That's the problem with living in a flat, deliveries just don't seem to work. :wall:

They is crap I know

I waited in for 2 days for a delivery and wait for it. wait for it. I rang them to see what had happened Ummm... It was damaged so we sent it back to the company, why did you not phone me to say, well the driver were outside your house and when he looked at the parcel he did not think I would accept it in that condition, why did he not come and ask me>>>>>

My address is simple to find, even more so with a GPS Sat Nav system.
Odd numbers oneside of the road & even on the other side?
Simple? Not if having something delivered by a well known company.
Nowadays we give exact instructions if we need anything delivered.

But, come now Ian having to decide which button to press can be difficult for some people!

Hmm, that rings a bell. To me, Citylink are the worst offenders.

I'm in a tower block in a new development in SE London.

All residents in this tower block have a private post box, accessible only from the rear by key but still courier companies refuse to leave cards as it's 'a communal block'.

Excuse me courier company/driver, but. Are you brain dead?

The only person who will get that calling card is me and when I actually drive to your depot and have to converse with some fat disinterested slug whose only purpose in life seems to be to cheese me off, I have to produce documents anyway, so where's the risk?

They do make me jolly angry, these delivery tosspots.

DHL = Drop it, Hide it, Lose it

They make me so cross! :wall:
