Hey All,

We have a Win2k DHCP server setup and everything has been
working fine. However, we are seeing our available IP
addresses being shorted by about 30 or so on a Class C
range. When you do a display stats it shows out of the
actual 125 we've set aside for DHCP about 115 being used.
However, when you look at the leased addresses we only
count 70 or so stations.

I have not Jet DB errors in the event log. Clients don't
seem to have any problems get the addresses that are
available. So where are the other addresses? Did they get
marked for death some how? Help!!

Thanks!
Andrew

I've found a temporary fix. I can use the DHCPCMD.EXE tool
to fix the database. However, the problem happens again. I
have to assume my database is corrupt and will need to
replace it.

Hello,

If in fact your DHCP database is corrupt you also might want to investigate
the cause of the corruption. Suggestion, do NOT monitor the DHCP database
with antivirus software. The database was not meant to be accessed in that
manner. Does your database show strange leases? Leases with strange
unrecognizable characters?
