I created a new DHCP Scope...now, user are complaing of
slow network access....

the new scope is as follows
Start address : 172.19.104.1
end address:

Is 172.19.104.1 your gateway address? Is 172.19.104.1
assigned to a users computer? If so I would start my range
from x.x.x.20. This leaves you 19 static addresses in
adition to the gateway.

Dave

I hit return accidently..... following is the remainder
off my post....

start address : 172.19.104.1
end address : 172.19.107.254
gateway address: 172.19.104.253
sm : 255.255.252.0

excluded address ranges (for static assignments)
172.19.106.1 to 172.19.106.255
172.19.104.1 to 172.19.104.255

Are these addresses correct? Or is there a typo.

Is it the 104, 107 or 106 network? Also your end address
is past your gateway address. If you are on the 104
network you have then excluded all the addresses. I would
check to be sure they are correct.

Dave

no, this is not a typo... and the gateway address is i
have excluded.....from the scope

If its still not working try this, I do not think you can
span multiple networks. I dont think you ca go from the
104 network all the way up to the 107 network. You might
have to make multiple start/end ranges for each network.

Dave

start address : 172.19.104.1
end address : 172.19.104.254
gateway address: 172.19.104.253
sm : 255.255.252.0

Dave

originally, i tried to create multiple scopes...the first
scope was ok (172.19.105.x w/255.255.250 mask, then when i
went to create the second scope, (172.19.104.x)
I received a message stating that the scope was already
this is why i attempted to span all three subnets....
I will try it again...

thank you for your reply....

I did delete all scopes and attempted to redo it....
still received same message when trying to create second
scope

If that second scope is already in use, (check the leased addresses) than
you would have to stop DHCP-server and clean the database. You might have to
clean the WINS too.
