I currently have 2 offices each one setup (for examples sake) with the IP
range 10.1.2.0 to 10.1.2.100 and one 10.1.3.0 to 10.1.3.100

Office 1 is the main office and has a DHCP server and 4 other servers,
office 2 has one server which runs DHCP and only has a few staff now there
working. The 2 offices are connected via a leased line with a router either
end.

In office 2 when the server eventually dies (as its old) I do not want that
office to have a replacement server so therefore there will be no server
there at all, therefore when it dies how can Office 2 still pick up their IP
address range of 10.1.3.0 to 10.1.3.100?

Do I add that range to the DHCP server at the main office?

Will office 2 then pick up the ip addresses. If thats the case how do I
know other computers in the main office won't start using the 10.1.3.0 IP
addresses.

Thanks

Hi,

Yes the main office DHCP should be able to provide IP addresses for the
remote site and clients in each site should be able to get addresses from
the proper scope. You will need to configure your router at the remote site
to do bootp relay (or DHCP relay or IP helper). Please see the following
article for more information:
