I wonder if anyone can help.

I have two groups of users who need different configs,
but I only have one DHCP server. I have created another
scope with the new settings in it but how do I tell the
client to use this new scope and not the origional one.

Seems simple to me but I cant find it anywhere

Many thanks

Hello,

Ideally, you would put one group of users on a different network with
a router in between to isolate your two groups of users (it could be
as simple as adding a second network card to your server).

Alternatively, only assign reserved DHCP leases in your second scope.
This implies running two networks on the same media and gathering all
the required MAC addresses.

The first solution is easier to implement and manage than the second.

Hi,

If your clients are Windows 2000 or later you can use DHCP "user classes".
See 240247 How to Create a New DHCP User or Vendor Class
