I have used Sysprep to configure several images. When
trying to configure DHCP on this image the system cannot
register with the DHCP server. I receive the automatic
address. The system works fine with a static address.
Systems I have not used sysprep on do not have this
problem.

This is not a DNS question... I cross posted to the
microsoft.public.windowsxp.setup_deployment newsgroup, but set followups to
this group for your convenience so you can find the responses.

Nonetheless...

I am to assume this is on XP Pro?

I've used sysprep for a number of years now deploying hundreds of machines
with W2k and XP and have never come across this problem. Usually just keep
the network settings as "Typical" to use DHCP and when going thru Setup
Manager, so I'm assuming you're selecting "Typical"? Are you putting the
sysprep.inf, and the other two required files (sysprep.exe and can't
remember the other one off hand) in the c:\sysprep folder that's created by
Setup Manager prior to running sysprep.exe?

Maybe there's also a slight difference in the NIC hardware between your
machines?
