Hi,

I have a RIS server that is authorized with wrong ip address in the DHCP, probably due to a IP change.
When I try to unauthorized the server, the mmc.exe generates an application error.

I´m able to unauthorized other servers that got correct ip addresses.
Have used the ADSI tools to check the dhcp servers, but I can´t find any strange.

Thank´s

Hi,

Thank´s for your answer.

I have already tried to use the command netsh, but it doesn't work.
The server still remains in the Authorized DHCP servers window.

Hello,

What is the exact error message that you are getting when you try to
un-authorize the dhcp server?

Thank You.

Hi,

Receives this when I use the dhcp snap-in,

Application popup: DHCP: mmc.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x77f5297f" referenced memory at "0x3003414".
The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

When I use the netsh command,

It says that it is deleting the dhcp server and then I´m back at the command prompt. No message if it was successful or not. And the dhcp server still exist in the list.

Hello Niclas,

Please use ADSIEdit to remove the entry for this server in the
Netservices\DHCPRoot attribute.

Than force replication to get this attribute to delete on all servers.

Steps to Perform this task
=====================
1. As an administrator of the root domain, start Adsiedit.msc. Note that
each node contains a child object that begins with CN=.

2. Click the plus sign (+) to expand Configuration, expand
CN=Configuration, expand CN=Services, and then click CN=NetServices.

3. Right-click CN=DHCPRoot, and then click Properties.

4. Locate the DHCPServers property.

5. Click CN=NetServices, click the entry for the new DHCP server, and
then press DELETE.

6. Either force Active Directory replication to the other sites or wait for
the replication cycle.

Thank You.

Hello Diana,

I have checked that entry with ADSIEdit but the server doesn´t appear in the list!
A bit strange...
All the other servers appear but not the one a want to remove.

Do you have more things that I can test?

Thanks

Niclas

Hello Niclas,

ADSIEDIT - In the Configuration Container\Services\NetServices\DhcpRoot

There is a multivalue-value object, one of the properties called
"DhcpServers" has values for all of the authorized DHCP servers.

Can you check to see if your DC is still listed as one of those values?

If yes, delete that value for your specific DHCP server, and test.

Hello Diana

Yes, the server was one of those values
I have removed it and authorize the server again with the correct IP and everything seems to work

Thanks for your help

Best Regard

Nicla
