Strange workstations are showing up in my DHCP address leases.
How can I track them down?
How can I track them down?
Tanu Mutreja said:How do you define "strange" here Do you mean to say that you see some
workstations that are not using dynamic IP through your DHCP Server? Did
these workstations ever used dynamic IP's from this DHCP Server?
MS DHCP server retains the lease record, even for an in-active client till
the client explicitly releases the address or the Server really runs short
of IP addresses.
You may want to re-validate/track the lease details through "netsh"
commands.Refer to
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/using/productdoc/en/netsh_dhcp.asp
for netsh related information.
