DHCP Server not found.

I have a couple of XP systems that cannot find the DHCP
server, thus they get assigned an IP and Subnet from
AutoConfiguration (Apipa).
How do I get DHCP to get back on track?
 
More information about the home setup you have (e.g. are you connected to a
linksys device / router or are you connected directly to the Internet )
would really help.
