I have a DHCP server which was built on another internal
network which keeps reverting it's IP address back to the
original build IP address which means I can not add
scopes, reservations etc.. any suggestions on how to
change it to the IP I want?

Thanks

Hi

Your Question:
I have a DHCP server which was built on another internal network which
keeps reverting it's IP address back to the original build IP address which
means I can not add scopes, reservations etc.. any suggestions on how to
change it to the IP I want?

Can you please be a little more elaborate about the problem being faced. Is
the server itself reverting back to the old IP are the clients are getting
assigned the old IP addresses?

If what you describe is actually the case rebuild the machine and forget it.
If the TCP/IP componenets are screwed up you could spend days fighting with
it or just an hour and a half reloading it from scratch. Since you aren't
able to configure DHCP at this point there realy isn't any configuration to
"lose".

If you have imaging softwate like Norton Ghost it is always good to keep a
"fresh" image of an *activated* install handy before any configuration
occurs on the machine that makes it "unique". Then you can always return to
that point quickly without all the greif. Ghost comes with utilities (Ghost
Walker) to make adjustments for the SID and machine name to avoid conflicts.
The image will work on any machine where the hardware is
similar,...plug&play will adjust for minor hardware differences.
