DHCP Renewal

I am studying for the 70-216 and I have a question about DHCP renewal. If I
understand correctly, at 50% of the lease duration the client will attempt
to contact the DHCP server for renewal. This is where I have a question. If
the renewal is unsuccessful, the client will retry at 87.5%. Does it retry
to any server or will it retry to the original server for renewal?

Actually it continues to try ITS OWN DHCP server between
those times -- and ANY DHCP server (broadcasting discoveries)
at the 7/8ths time.
Does it retry
to any server or will it retry to the original server for renewal?

At 7/8ths it tries any server.
