OK, I have DHCP up and started (with scope 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.254,
excluding 192.168.0.1). I have the router set as 192.168.0.1, and there are
no errors in Event Log (only a message saying DHCP is started and ready to
accept) but for some reason, the laptop never finds the DHCP server!

I even set the "Bindings" (Under Server Properties) to only include the
Internal NIC for "servicing clients," and unchecked the internet NIC.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

I solved that problem: I discovered my firewall was blocking the traffic, so
I allowed it for all addresses in the 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.254 range and
now it gets the address properly.

However, now I'm having a problem with NAT. Here's what happens:

I start up IE and type in "www.msn.com" and I see at the bottom it says,
"connecting to site 207.68.172.234" but it never connects. So I know it's
going out to the external DNS properly, but for some reason it can't go any
further than that. Any ideas?

The Firewall shouldn't even be "in the path" for the private side of the LAN
if this is a physical device on the network and not a personal firewall
running on each machine. The 4 ports (or six, or whatever) on the typical
DSL/Cable Routers is simply a built in switch integrated into the same
device. Traffic between these "ports" does not pass through an firewall or
nat services.

You have something really strange going on over there.
