Any one know how I could get a DHCP service on my network that allows for
leasing - like on Win2k server - but without employing a Win2k server?

There are many devices that can provide a DHCP service.
You can have a router providing DHCP, and even have
Windows NT4 providing DHCP.
Why are you worried about Windows 2000 server? If you
make a cheap desktop machine be a 2000 member server, it
can do your DHCP for you without having to be a domain
server.
Otherwise, you can install DHCP Turbo from

Many thanks for the response.

DHCP isn't the main concern, what is however a concern is the leasing
options of the DHCP server. I need to ensure that .41 always goes to PC1
..42 PC2 etc.....

Does any device allow me to do this without employing a Microsoft server
option?
