DHCP Issues

One of my offices is having an issue with DHCP this
morning. They are NOT receiving IP address info from the
DHCP server. As a result, they can't get on the
network. In their XP event log, the message says (id
1002): "the ip address 0.0.0.0 for the network card w/
network address xxxx has been denied by the DHCP server
<ip address> (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message)."

There are plent of addresses to give out of this scope.
They are in a different AD site.

If I give them a static IP they work just fine.
Unfortunately, this seems to be just a 'workaround'.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just had the same problem after upgrading to WinXP. Could not figure out why it was giving me the same event error code. When using 'ping' I would get an error = 65 and no response from trying to ping my IP address.

However, just on a whim, I tried starting my ZoneAlarm firewall software and then everything worked just fine. I do not understand and cannot begin to explain it. But I guess now that it works, don't try to fix what is no longer broken.

Wish I could be of more help.

Happy New Year,
Fred
